Research Interests

As one of the sources of healthy food and novel drugs, Agarics boast their paramount economic value. Numerous species can form mycorhiza with tree roots, so they can benefit forest planning and cultivation. They play an important role in ecological cycle . Yet, some species may cause poisoning when consuming.
The group mainly engages in the study of systematics of macro-fungi and application of edible and medicinal fungi. Forty research articles and six monographs (as coauthor) were published. A lot of work on the development and application of macro-fungi have been done in recent years. Great progress has been made in the study on the cultivation and active compounds of macro-fungi. Two technologies about Lingzhi have been transferred. One patent, “Extraction method of fat-soluble active compounds from Ganoderma lucidum” was authorized.
An investigation into the distribution and natural resources of endangered species- Tricholoma mongolicum S. Imai, Cordyceps sinensis (Berk.) Sacc. was carried out. Suggestions on how to develop and protect these endangered species was made to the authorities concerned.
