 Research contents

This project focuses on the breeding of microorganisms that have better performance on producing abscisic acid, blood lipid-lowering agents and nisin by selective breeding, mutant construction and fermentation system optimization using molecular genetics and other strain improvement technologies. We will investigate their metabolic regulation, fermentation engineering, optimal fermentation process and key industrial amplification technology, develop the technology and equipment for 50-ton Abscisic acid production line, manufacture abscisic acid with high purity, Monascus-generated blood lipid-lowering agents with low cost and high safety, develop nisin products that is more effective, extensive, safe, and with broader application perspective, optimize metabolites extraction processes to meet international quality standards.

 Anticipated objective
To acquire microorganisms producing abscisic acid and nisin in high yield and modified Monascus strain for blood lipid-lowering agents production.
To develop technology to manufacture abscisic acid at 50 tons level with the raw material meeting international standard.
To produce Monascus-generated blood lipid-lowering agents meeting international standard.
To acquire novel nisin products that is more effective, extensive and safe.
This project is expected to generate 4-6 pieces of invent patent and 7-10 pieces of research paper. Our work is expected to gain us nationwide and worldwide leading position.
