The project aims to solve two key problems in glutamic acid fermentation:
1.Membrane fouling mechanism and controlling in acid and alkali regeneration process. The proposed objectives include the membrane fouling mechanisms by protein, pigment, and residual inorganic salt, along with the pretreatment method, the operating condition for reducing the membrane fouling, and the cleaning and the restoring method, and to establish the integrated technique for controlling membrane fouling.
2.Ion transport kinetics and transport selective regulation in acid and alkali regeneration process. The project plans to study the electromigration rule and kinetics of certain inorganic ions, impurity anions and cations, as well as the method of enhancing ion selectivity, and establish the integrated technique of acid and alkali regeneration and ion separation. Based on above work, the pilot-scale experiment and economic evaluation will be carried out.
