| Research contents |
By selecting and evaluating energy plant as well as its preservation, we are aiming to construct energy plant resources research platform for the different physiographic region, covering north, middle, southeast and southwest of China and thoroughly investigate the general energy plant background of lipid, hydrocarbon and carbohydrate of China. We try to discuss the theory and method for cultivation high quality energy plant and its sustainable use, which will accelerate the combination of agronomy, forestry, biology and chemistry study in energy plant research and development. Take Jatropha curcas as the research object, we plan to collect and estimate germplasm resources from different regions, establish the core germplasm resources and to create new germplasms. We will also focus on some key technologies and question research, including high yield cultivate and development pattern, lipid metabolism and comprehensive utilization key resistance gene and essential lipid metabolism function gene clones and function gene analysis which will benefit to breakthrough the following: technology choke point in industry development, namely the unit output is low, the oil extraction rate is unstable, The distributing region is limited,the biological diesel oil transformed from the lipids has high ignite point, low coagulation temperature as well as the low product economic efficiency. |
| Anticipated objective |
Make a thorough investigation of the energy plant background of lipid, hydrocarbon and carbohydrate in China to reserve strategy energy for biological nature energy use in the future. Establish energy plant resources research platform for the different physiographic region covering north, middle, southeast and southwest of China, and establish the largest energy plant collection in China, which can preserve 1000 species of energy plants. Carry out study on the key technologies of Jatropha curcas industrialization , to breakthrough the following: technology choke point in industry development, namely the unit output is low, the oil extraction rate is unstable, The distributing region is limited,the biological diesel oil transformed from the lipids has high ignite point , low coagulation temperature as well as the low product economic efficiency. |
